On the evening of March 29, 2005. Oranna B. Felter, lead plaintiff in Felter-vs-Norton, which is now know as Felter v. Kempthorne, met with Utah Congressman, James Matheson at a town hall meeting in Vernal, Utah.

Oranna and Congressman Matheson with the document's and books in his hand.
Oranna presented the Congressman documented information pertaining to the case along with copies of Parker Neilson's book, "The Dispossessed" and R. Warren Metcalf's, " Termination's Legacy."
Congressman Matheson told her he needed to do more research and become more familiar with the case. Congress Matheson introduced Oranna to his aid, He gave her his business card and said he would keep in contact.
Although their time spend together was limited because of the number of other people who was there to ask question of the Congressman , Oranna felt that what time she did have with him was well worth it and came away with a good feeling that Congressman Matheson was very interested in learning more about the mixed-bloods and their case.
